Director, Marketing

The Director, Marketing is responsible for executing the marketing strategy developed in collaboration with leadership across all business segments. Working in conjunction with the CEO and COO, other members of the Executive Team, and outside vendors and brand partners, the Director, Marketing will help cultivate an environment and process that lead to the best expression of the Tribeca brand, our product, and our partnerships while driving revenue. 


In this role the Director, Marketing will collaborate with all relevant internal departments and partner closely with the CEO, COO, and VP of Communications to further develop the Tribeca Enterprises brand and bring continued success to our Festival and events. (DURATION: March – Late June.)

 

ABOUT YOU 

Our ideal candidate will be innovative, self-driven, and collaborative. You will have the ability to successfully execute the 2022 Tribeca Festival’s marketing campaign within a prescribed budget. You will be able to roll up your sleeves to get the job done while collaborating with the Director, Audience Development, VP of Communications, and the Director, Development. You will have the unique ability to work closely with Festival teams and third-party agencies to amplify the Tribeca brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute overall marketing initiatives and strategies for the Tribeca Festival.
  • Oversee the creation (including writing and editing), distribution, and approval processes of all marketing materials including, but not limited to: newsletters, paid campaigns, online presence, and Tribeca Festival creative.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and vendors as needed. 
  • Liaise with internal Tribeca Festival Teams to support Department and Corporate initiatives through communications and marketing: 
  • Programming: support key films, events, industry and alumni activities;
  • Operations: leverage media-in-kind partnerships to drive ticket sales; and
  • Partnerships: integrate larger sponsor-driven campaigns into owned channels. 
  • Working closely with the CEO, COO, and marketing and partnership team, develop media partnerships to promote and amplify 2022 Festival and upcoming events based on marketing, press, and ticket sales goals. 
  • Strategically position Tribeca Festival on all platforms and media, utilizing in-house team, including the Tribeca website, social channels, and marketing and media assets.
  • Alongside the Executive Team, help articulate and implement KPIs across marketing and communications departments to drive accountability and alignment. 
  • Oversee full-time staff members as well as any seasonally hired Tribeca Festival marketing and social media support, and partner with web and technology teams to execute plans.
  • Develop, implement, and manage marketing budgets in coordination with Finance and Operations Teams.
  • In collaboration with Digital, Operations, and Brand Creative, create a post-event wrap report including insights, impressions, trends, and key learnings from the 2022 Tribeca Festival with an eye toward future Festivals and events.
  • Identify upcoming trends and drive innovation targeted at organic growth.

 

REQUIREMENTS 

  • 7+ years with proven achievements in Marketing and/or Social platforms.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in live events.
  • 2+ years leadership experience, including department management of teams in either marketing, social, creative and/or design. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to update leaders in a concise and collaborative way.  
  • A deep understanding of marketing, from social media platforms and user behavior to brand storytelling.
