Director, Inclusion, Diversity, Equity

Northbrook, IL

The Inclusive Diversity and Equity Integration & Transformation Director plays a vital role in support of Allstate’s Inclusive Diversity and Equity Vision which is “to have a workforce that mirrors the diversity of our communities and customers and be recognized as a differentiated leader in ID&E.” This role drives the design and implementation of ID&E strategies internally and externally that promote a diverse, productive, and supportive workplace as a sustainable long-term reality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Influences the areas of responsibility to create, disrupt and iterate on current business practices to improve equity within our company, across our communities and industry
  • Collaborates with other ID&E staff to ensure ID&E strategic implementation efforts are coordinated and harmonized
  • Designs and implements strategies that lead to ID&E growth as measured by the following:
  • Increases our staff diversity through recruitment, retention, and development
  • Improves diversity at all levels of Allstate’s workforce
  • Increases Allstate’s Reputation ratings
  • Increases business growth in minority customer segments
  • Demonstrates responsibility for addressing equity within the industry
  • Partners with other leaders to further evolve Allstate’s workplace environment to ensure inclusivity, diversity and equity is fully embedded in our culture
  • Champions the execution of the ID&E strategy through partnership with the areas of responsibility and supporting the team by removing barriers, troubleshooting, and creating sustainable and measurable outcomes
  • Partners with People Analytics to develop and monitor data dashboards for data informed decision-making regarding diversity and equity
  • Leads the design of strategies to improve Inclusive Diversity results as tracked by the Inspire survey
  • Provides Strategic Human Capital Consulting by optimizing resources for efficient and effective achievement of organization goals
  • Leverages human and customer-centric problem-solving and innovation to build products, services, or solutions for complex, intractable problems in a technically feasible, sustainable, and emotionally meaningful way 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
  • 12 or more years of related experience 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • None

  • Experience in designing policies, processes, and programs to advance inclusivity and equity in the workplace and increase business results
  • Executive presence and persuasive presentation and communication abilities
  • Ability to think broadly and strategically with a future-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated change agility and systems thinking
  • Ability to deliver on a customer-first mindset
  • Proven digital and innovative approaches to build new ways of working
  • Ability to overcome barriers to achieve challenging goals and results
  • Strong leadership skills focused on developing people into outstanding performers
  • Proficiency in interpreting data, directing data analysis teams, and the strategic application of data
  • Ability to tactfully challenge the status quo and incites constructive debate and conversation
  • Ability to build trust and credibility and navigate complex, interconnected relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software, SAP and HR Platforms preferred
