Director, Global Visual Merchandising

The Global Director of Visual Merchandising is responsible for developing and executing innovative and compelling showroom, window, in-store, and consumer messaging visual product strategies on a global scale, focusing on all own and operated businesses along with key joint venture partners. As the Director of Visual Merchandising, you will be responsible for creating an immersive and cohesive brand experience that resonates with our consumers and elevates the Calvin Klein brand across all visual merchandising touchpoints. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies: Lead the development of showroom, window, in-store, and consumer messaging strategies that align with the brand’s overall objectives and resonates with the target audience across full-price and Outlet environments.
  • Oversee and execute the global showroom for line opening: Collaborate with the cross-functional teams to develop compelling and visually stunning showroom presentations that tie back to the overall seasonals product strategies including key looks and must buys.
  • Review and provide feedback on all regional showroom plans and see through to final executions including visual merchandising guidelines, key mannequin looks, and brand activations.
  • Define and provide clear guidance on global seasonal guidelines and VM principles to all regional and external teams. Review all regional plans to ensure that they mirror back to the Global brand VM strategy. 
  • Drive product presentation in window and in-store merchandising excellence: Collaborate with retail and internal teams to ensure the merchandising strategies align with store layouts and optimize product visibility.
  • Continually communicate with the creative environments team on product strategies that will help direct window and in-store creative.
  • Travel to stores and work with regional VM teams on executing strategies across the globe. Support and provide visual solutions that are within the brand guidelines. Flexibility to travel.
  • Listen and collaborate with local store managers and retail teams when visiting markets, taking into consideration local nuances to inform decisions.
  • Review proposed floor and zoning plans with the Global Store Design team ensuring new store openings and remodels are following the brand product strategies.
  • Support new flagship store openings and store re-models globally.
  • Track projects and be able to provide updates on all initiatives in partnership with the Brand Environments Project Management Team. 
  • Work with the Brand Experience team on activations that require visual merchandising support.
  • Interpret needs for the company to identify best practices in the visual merchandising division.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience: 7-10 years of Visual Merchandising experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field


Skills:                                 

  • Highly creative, with strong fashion and styling sensibility.
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while handling multiple projects.
  • Excellent software knowledge of:
  • Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign & Acrobat)
  • Google SketchUp + Plugins a plus
  • AutoCAD a plus
  • Styling product for photography
  • MS Office including Outlook, Excel + PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 


INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:          

  • Internal: Global Merchandising and Planning, Global Design, Global Marketing, and all regional VM teams.

                 

External: Vendors + Freelancers


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct: Visual Merchandising Managers
  • Indirect: Freelancers


BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Travel Expenses + VM Projects


DECISION MAKING: Ability to thoughtfully analyze results to suggest future action.


RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:  Ability to balance business needs with creative needs, and deeply understand/appreciate the Calvin Klein aesthetic.


Pay Range: $135,000 - $165,000 PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements.


These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
