Director, Finance

The Director, Finance supports Embassy Row production company operations and senior management with finance and accounting support. Works with Executive Director, Finance and members of the Sony Pictures Global Finance Organization (GFO) in meeting all SPE corporate financial reporting requests and control guidelines. In partnership with other members of the Sony Pictures Divisional Finance team, the Director, Finance will apply financial analysis skills in budgeting, forecasting, and aiding the strategic decision process.  


Responsibilities include:

  • Support preparation of quarterly forecasts, annual budget and mid-range plan, as well as conduct ad-hoc analysis requests of Embassy Row business operations
  • Work with Embassy Row Production Accounting on ensuring the show production costs from their system are reported in S4/Hana (SAP) in an IFRS-compliant manner
  • Provide support on operational and Production Accounting-related matters, such as development cost spending, overhead controls, real estate financial matters, responding to Tax Dept. requests, fixed asset accounting, banking matters, etc.,
  • Manage month-end reporting tasks in partnership with GFO and CG as well as prepare certain journal entries and analytical reports (e.g., cash flow)
  • Act as liaison to GFO on implementing critical Sony Pictures Accounting requirements, ensuring the accuracy of Embassy Row books and records, and responding to audit requests
  • Hands-on supervision of activities performed by Cap Gemini accounting personnel assigned to Embassy Row, such as accounts payable and bank reconciliations


Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree with accounting/finance focus required;
  • CPA/MBA a plus
  • SAP knowledge and strong Excel skills required
  • Entertainment experience – especially in television – preferred; strong accounting knowledge
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and technology skills
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills especially with non-Finance individuals
