Job Purpose: The Director, Creative Marketing – Nashville is responsible for representing the SMP catalog of music in Sync clearance and creative marketing in the advertising, Film/TV for the Nashville catalog.


What You’ll Do: (job responsibilities)

  • Arrange and issue approvals/quotes for high-level sync deals in the advertising, Film/TV sector for the Nashville catalog
  • Price the catalog strategically and competitively and have a deep understanding of relevant sync history and fee structures
  • Pitch the SMP catalog to respective A-level clients to procure placements for our writers/copyrights in the sync marketplace
  • Manage a robust roster of B-level clients to make sure all our customer's requests are being met and processed in a timely manner
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with writer approval parties and estates
  • Partner effectively across internal divisions and with external partners using excellent communication skills
  • Stay on top of licensing trends and new media (i.e., NFTs, Metaverse)
  • Attend showcases, concerts, and other relevant events as it relates to business to liaise with our songwriters and their management teams in Nashville
  • Curate the Nashville assets so global sync deals pitch the assets as well
  • Additional responsibilities to includes nurturing/educating new songwriters with the goal of placing songs within sync world


Who You Are: (skills and experience required)

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in music publishing or related field.
  • MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Works, Internet
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize, and handle heavy workload
  • Must reside in Nashville, TN
  • Must be motivated, responsible, and able to exercise good judgment. Must be able to take initiative.
  • Ability to be client-focused and recognize potential growth opportunities.
  • Extensive knowledge of country music and its history.
  • Must be well established in the local Nashville community, with extensive relationships within the country music industry.
