Director, Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations

Marc Jacobs International, powered by the creative genius of Marc Jacobs, seeks a Director of Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations to join the Human Resources team based in its New York City (SoHo) headquarters. Marc Jacobs International is part of the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) fashion division and operates in the wholesale and direct to consumer retail markets.


Areas of focus: Execute all reporting and project needs including but not limited to quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports; provide analysis as required. Write, maintain and support a variety of reports and queries with the end result of positively impacting the employee experience. Serve as HR Project Manager for LVMH and MJI local and global projects.


Direct Reports: Associate – Payroll & Human Resources, HR Operations Coordinator


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategy
  • Execute company strategies to attract and retain talents to support business objectives
  • Focus on managing talent gaps and effective succession planning to increase retention and engagement.
  • People Development
  • Ensure proper onboarding for all new hires – continue to upgrade process with an eye on Employer Branding
  • Coach Managers in the field to enhance leadership capabilities across retail network.
  • Ensure development plans are in place and activated
  • Manage Organization Management Review (OMR) efforts.
  • Manage annual Performance Review process
  • Support the execution of programs that drive development of key talents – utilize LVMH offerings when appropriate
  • Employee Relations
  • Main point of contact for all employee relations issues
  • Manage harassment claims, conduct investigations, mediate situations
  • Compensation & Benefits/Payroll/Budget/Data Reporting
  • Manage budgets, forecasts and strategic plans (R1/R2, Strat plans, Social Reports, etc) – partnering closely with Finance team and brand leaders.
  • Ensure employee compensation is in line with budget and external benchmarks; perform market research as needed
  • Manage annual ICR process.
  • Manage on-boarding, headcount management and terminations.
  • Partner with HR team regarding payroll, HRIS integrity and reporting
  • Ensure LOA and Workers Comp Claims are effectively executed
  • Recruitment
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to manage Retail recruitment needs both for immediate and anticipated needs.
  • Monitor new store/locations to ensure they are staffed according to plan/budget
  • Support managers at store level how to effectively interview and assess talent.
  • Management and Corporate Relations
  • One direct report
  • Liaise with CCO, Retail, Wholesale teams, international teams and LVMH Inc
  • This position serves as a technical point of contact for all payroll processes and HRIS systems procedure and support.
  • Understand US and Canada Payroll Processing – must be able to step into the Payroll role in case of absence. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of experience, minimum of two years of experience in business analytics and reporting experience, minimum of two years of US and Canada Payroll preferred
  • The desire to flex and tune your skills using Excel, Cognos, or other HR or BI software; excitement of a back of house reporting function is critical to your success
  • Strong analytical skills with experience joining data from multiple sources
  • Must be able to handle confidential / sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all levels within the organization
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
  • Support and lead multiple projects and prioritize deadlines
  • Strong ability to communicate compensation process and strategies with HR partners and business
  • Familiarity with HR processes, systems, tools, and programs (experience with Ultipro is a plus)
  • Ability to shuffle competing priorities while communicating and driving quality results
  • In compliance with the Order of New York City’s Commissioner of Health and Mental Hygiene to Require COVID-19 Vaccination in the Workplace, candidates will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination by their first day of employment.


SALARY RANGE:

  • $173,000 - $224,000
