Director, Communications

Aritzia is growing and our Communications team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for managing media relations inform on Aritzia’s business performance and purpose against company objectives, while elevating the brand’s credibility and relevance within the fashion landscape. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing how Aritzia’s story is shared with our stakeholders and community, inclusive of executive communications, business and trade communications, corporate purpose communications, and consumer media relations. And, with people at the heart of everything you do, you will support your high-potential people to grow rewarding careers at Aritzia — while enjoying one yourself.  


As the Director, Communications, you will lead the team to:

  • Develop and optimize a corporate communications strategy that reinforces company objectives while strengthening confidence in Aritzia’s business performance and purpose
  • Clearly define and elevate the executive leadership team’s profiles
  • Elevate Aritzia’s business profile, reputation, and relevance in top-tier business, trade and consumer media
  • Clearly communicate Aritzia’s Corporate Purpose through its Community and Culture-driven values and initiatives
  • Build and strengthen relationships with top-tier business, trade and consumer media through intentional activations and proactive outreach
  • Support the function of high-quality external communications holistically—ensuring strategic continuity across both corporate and consumer communications
  • Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of communications objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience


THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Director, Communications has:

  • Proven and best-in-class skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in External Communications
  • Experience liaising with top-tier North American business, trade and fashion media and managing media relations
  • Experience managing crisis communications
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion, and enrich Aritzia's Values, Business and People Leadership principles
  • The skills to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
  • The ability to set clear objectives and design a strategy that inspires the team
  • A dedication to quality and investing in results and new business opportunities that add value at all times
  • A deep understanding and commitment for the industry in which we operate

  • Competitive Base Pay — Ranges from $150,000 to $180,000, with commitment to industry leading performance-based pay increases, incentives, and recognition programs
