Director, Chemical Sales & Marketing

Raleigh, NC

We are seeking a Director, Chemical Sales & Marketing to join our Magnesia Specialties Division. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales and Commercial Excellence, this position will lead a team of Regional Sales Managers and have overall responsibility for chemicals sales and marketing efforts globally. 


The successful candidate will collaborate with customers, distributors, internal business partners, transportation providers, and other external business partners to achieve revenue, pricing and profit objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics which achieve commercial objectives
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with key customers, partners and industry personnel
  • Build broad and deep industry knowledge across all end markets, monitor industry trends
  • Possess and/or rapidly acquire technical product and manufacturing process knowledge
  • Develop deep understanding of product applications and competitive alternatives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization, including operations
  • Manage regional sales managers and/or other resources as assigned by the Company
  • Structure and negotiate commercial contracts, in partnership with corporate legal
  • Lead and/or support multiple large and complex, strategic in nature initiatives that have a high degree of scope and complexity as assigned by the Company
  • Perform all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct

 

Qualification and skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to grow existing business and develop new business required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, engineering, business or related STEM field required
  • Minimum ten years of professional experience required
  • Minimum five years of sales management experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communications skills required
  • Strong financial, quantitative and analytical acumen required
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, support multiple priorities and adapt in a dynamic business environment required
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time required
  • Possess the potential and desire to take on additional responsibilities over time
  • Self-motivated and high energy, with the demonstrated ability to achieve results without supervision required
  • Chemicals and/or technical sales experience preferred
  • MBA preferred
