What You'll Do
We are currently seeking a Director of Brand Storytelling to take Wilson’s vision of a better world through sport and bring it to life across all marketing channels. Living like an athlete is our universal code of conduct and a way of seeing the world and showing up every day, and this person will harness that energy in a relentless pursuit to show the world how our products – whether that be the latest racket, ball glove, or Wilson Sport Professional drop - turn heads from head to toe.
The Director is a visionary and strategic thinker who will partner with our team of content creators to create dynamic and cinematic messaging across all of our sports.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver a best-in-class brand narrative, heavily rooted in video and motion, that resonates with avid athletes and fans of all sports
- Articulate the spirit of our heritage and innovation through a positive, inclusive online brand content strategy across all marketing touchpoints, including social media, wilson.com, and Wilson Live
- Foster a strong and engaged community of brand enthusiasts and advocates
- Partner with product category marketing leaders and digital marketing team to drive brand & product awareness, lead generation and conversion through content pipeline
- Curate an on-brand, premium, and authentic aesthetic for the Wilson brand in partnership with our internal brand design group
- Identify and curate key stories and moments across all sports that together tell a holistic inspiring brand narrative
- Ensure branded content supports our Must Win Battles and drives customer engagement and conversion
- Conduct thorough research and partner with subject experts, as needed, throughout content creation process
What We're Looking For
This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in copywriting, journalism, and/or content creation. Experience within the sporting goods or consumer packaged goods industries is preferred.
Other qualifications include:
- An obsession for storytelling that is playfully sophisticated
- Understanding of the creative process from concept through development and production
- Proficiency in design tools and software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) as well as content management and social media management tools
- Strong understanding of how to translate brand strategy and business needs into emotionally compelling content
- Ability to work across a range of stakeholders and content pipeline contributors with reliability, poise and strategic rigor
- Excellent time management and communication skills with a high say-do ratio. Proactive and assertive with a knack for creative problem solving. Can manage multiple workstreams at once and communicate clearly without delay.
- Comfortable adapting on the fly to trends, breaking news and live events or stories. Creative agility and curiosity - always looking for ways to enhance or create their own opportunities.

- Scrappy and able to work with limited resources in order to manage the process soup to nuts
