Director, Brand Public Relations

In the role of Director, Brand Public Relations working in Chicago, IL you will be part of the Corporate Affairs team. You will be responsible for managing and enhancing the public media narrative for our entire portfolio of brands across North America, partnering closely with the CMO and the Marketing Leadership Team.


The Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the public media narrative for our entire portfolio of brands across North America, partnering closely with the CMO and the Marketing Leadership Team
  • Manage agency partners who create strong PR programs that increase consumer engagement of our brands
  • Lead team of brand PR managers who manage a portfolio of brands, ensuring their professional growth
  • Conduct media interviews and manage interviews with senior leaders
  • Provide speech writing and other appropriate communications assistance, ensuring alignment with overall communications strategy

 

Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years of experience in an industry leading organization in a communications capacity with background in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant field
  • Proven experience and success in planning, developing and executing communications strategies to achieve desired behaviors.
  • The successful incumbent will be public relations professional with proven record of contributing to the growth of specific consumer brands. State-of-the-art marketing knowledge, great cultural sense, and the ability to effectively engage leadership and teams.
  • Has a clear marketing and brand philosophy, energized by driving big brands forward
  • Ability to deliver in ambiguous and high-pressure environments
  • Strong ability to influence and partner with C-suite executives
  • Industry curiosity – strong passion for what makes brands interesting & exciting to consumers
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of broad corporate issues facing a regulated industry
  • Must possess superior communications skills including excellent writing and editing skills; speechwriting, scripting/presentations.
  • Strong judgment skills. Ability to decisively manage issues and assess risks.
