Director, Brand Marketing

The Director of Brand Marketing will have a unique experience to help develop and drive the success of the Perry Ellis, Perry Ellis America and Original Penguin brands globally, with the goal of growing brand awareness through brand marketing, creative campaigns, media, influencer marketing, talent, collaborations and social media. This position will work closely with the SVP of Marketing to develop/execute a Marketing and Communications strategy that identifies and amplifies all key brand initiatives for PE, PEA and OPG brands while ensuring brand consistency across all omni-channels. They will act as an effective advocate for PR priorities and initiatives, proactively seek unique opportunities and partnerships to generate brand exposure and support the business in hyper growth markets for retail and wholesale channels.


Overall Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a bridge between the retail, e-comm and wholesale teams to develop more aligned strategies
  • Work closely with Sales, Merchandise, Design and Licensing teams to ensure one global communication and
  • marketing strategy.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Creative teams in order to strategize and help to direct the brand’s image to
  • ensure synergy in the execution of global and local campaigns.
  • Create and implement integrated marketing and communications programs with a strong retail and PR focus.
  • Create the seasonal US Marketing and Communications calendars in close alignment with all omni-channel
  • partners, including Sales, Merchandising, Wholesale and Licensing teams.
  • Manage and oversee Retail Marketing Manager on all aspects of Retail Marketing, WHolesale Marketing and Merchandising Directives

Brand Communications

  • Oversee PR agency and ensure support of all brand launches, press releases and media relations
  • Oversee the distribution and development of all brand communications both locally and globally
  • Innovate new strategic thinking across multiple communication channels by digitizing PR activations, events and
  • global campaigns, while integrating retail stores, wholesale partners & strategies
  • Drive 360’ storytelling by aligning all PE, PEA and OPG brand channels through a global communication plan
  • Develop and manage creative partnerships and sponsorships with other brands and or key opinion leaders
  • Liaison with agency partners for US Media plan, OOH & Online Media
  • Events
  • Oversee the execution of local and global brand events in key markets
  • Support brand events taking place in the global and local markets i.e Press Days, Brand Events, Sporting Events,
  • Fashion Events, Music Festivals, etc
  • Social Media & Influencer Relations
  • Oversee paid influencer marketing campaigns for the local local and global markets
  • Partner with local creative agency on influencer seeding programs for major launches
  • Support brand moments by securing influencer attendance for social amplification
  • Support brand ambassador activations which include but is not limited to the influencers, local athlete & talent
  • partnerships, etc
  • Partnerships & Sports Marketing
  • Strategize and manage local partnerships to support growth markets –IE local sports sponsoring deals, local
  • charity programs, etc
  • Liaison on executing sporting events taking place in the US Market- Miami University, USA Pickleball, BOTB etc
  • Work closely with Miami Sports Marketing teams on Sports Sponsorships, partnerships and collaboration

  • Support SVP of Marketing on all aspects of Omni-Channel marketing
  • Maintain clear lines of internal organization and communication with all brand teams
  • Associate and help with development of their skills and talents, sharing knowledge and insight
  • Admin / Budget.
  • Oversee and manage PE, PEA and OPG budgets


  • 10+ years working in the apparel industry
  • BA/BS/BFA in Marketing/Advertising elated area
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
  • Mac and PC Platform user

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state-specific laws. Pay ranges may vary on skills, experience and be different in other locations.

NY: $123,022 - $138,465
