In this role, you’ll join a design team that is highly collaborative and strives towards a shared vision of lowering entry barriers and empowering members with inclusive, accessible, and powerful experiences.


Your main responsibility will be designing the BrickLink Catalog to lower the entry barriers of a very complex system so that it’s approachable to low-affinity users, while also retaining advanced functionality for our high-affinity users. The Catalog is a very powerful learning tool used by millions of people all over the world, and we want everyone to be able to take that next step in their LEGO journey.


Core Responsibilities

  • Own the design direction for the most exhaustive database of LEGO products in the world, which is the core component at the heart of all things BrickLink
  • Gain deep domain knowledge of the LEGO BrickLink Catalog and its users
  • Own the entire design process for the product team, including: Discovery research, wireframes & prototypes, user testing, creating final UI design with clear and detailed documentation, and presentation of project achievements at demo days
  • Work as part of an agile product team to define and prioritize roadmap items that align with the company’s strategy
  • Be a key collaborator in the overall strategic direction of the team
  • Include all members of your product team in the design process to drive collaboration and ownership for the whole team
  • Collaborate with designers from other product teams to give and receive feedback as well as ensuring alignment across all products
  • Work within and contribute to our design system


Do you have what it takes

  • Career background in digital product design (UX/UI) with experience in user-centric design
  • Solid proficiency in Figma
  • Experience planning and conducting user research and user testing
  • Ability to work in an agile, multi-functional team, bringing a proactive and optimistic approach to problem-solving
  • Proficiency in building mock-ups, prototypes and high-fidelity designs to visualize and test ideas
  • Confidence in presenting and explaining design work to key collaborators and team members, with a focus on storytelling


Nice to have

  • Previous experience with designing administrative functionality and/or complex data sets
  • Training or certifications in accessibility design
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction Design (HCID) or similar

Compensation

In accordance with the United States Pay Transparency Law, the salary for the US position has a range of $87,000 - $130,000 with bonus eligibility, which is based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints.


The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
