Digital & Performance Marketing Manager

Chicago, IL

The Digital and Performance Marketing Manager will spearhead our digital marketing strategies, including performance-based campaigns, to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and revenue growth across our wholesale and retail channels.


This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical prowess, and a deep understanding of digital marketing trends and tools to maximize the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and accelerate our growth in the competitive cannabis market.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital and performance marketing strategies across various digital channels (e.g, social media, email, PPC, SEO, SEM, and affiliate marketing) to achieve wholesale and retail business objectives.
  • Manage the day-to-day digital marketing plan and budget and assist in the development of the company’s annual digital marketing plan.
  • Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and platform policies specific to cannabis marketing.
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance, using marketing analytics tools and platforms to track metrics, such as CTR, CPC, CPA, and ROAS, to derive actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness and improve ROI.
  • Develop and manage email marketing campaigns, from segmentation to content creation and analysis.
  • Work closely with the marketing and creative teams to develop engaging, informative, and brand-aligned digital marketing materials.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and media partners to support the execution of performance marketing campaigns, negotiating contracts and ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Work with the IT and web development team to optimize the ecommerce experience and site productivity including the maintenance and optimization of the existing suite of technologies and development of new site capabilities. 
  • Lead SEO efforts to improve organic search visibility and drive traffic to our website.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to stakeholders, including senior management, on the performance of digital marketing campaigns, highlighting key learnings, successes, and areas for improvement.
  • Stay informed about digital marketing trends, tools, and best practices, especially those relevant to the cannabis industry.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, with a proven track record in performance marketing.
  • Proven track record of planning, launching, and optimizing digital advertising campaigns across multiple channels, with a focus on driving measurable results and ROI.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing analytics tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics, and data visualization tools, with the ability to extract insights and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Creative thinker with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, agencies, and external partners.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving industry landscape.
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry regulations and compliance requirements related to marketing and advertising is preferred but not required.
