Digital Marketing Manager


Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating and curating the online presence for Balchem HNH
  • Strengthening Balchem’s digital infrastructure, assets, and social networks
  • Managing digital events including webinars, campaigns and podcasts
  • Supporting the development and execution of the HNH Digital Marketing Strategy
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and deliver on KPIs
  • Translating business goals into successful SEO campaigns, analyzing the performance of SEO efforts and increasing search engine rankings for the website

Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

Planning, implementing and monitoring digital marketing campaigns across all digital platforms as well as ongoing management of social media marketing efforts. This position will work closely with digital and asset creation agencies, other external vendors, the HNH marketing team and cross-functionally with Information Technology (IT), and Sales to identify and develop new digital assets that will support brand awareness, customer engagement, consumer education and ultimately help to drive leads that convert to sales.


Digital Infrastructure and Asset Development            

  • Managing all HNH digital properties websites, including updating content, uploading new digital assets such as research materials, product information, videos and infographics
  • Designing and building social media presence
  • Working collaboratively with the marketing team and agencies to identify and develop new assets that will educate consumers and customers on the health benefits of choline and minerals
  • Planning and execution of all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns
  • Measuring and reporting performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assessment of goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Collaborating with other Balchem divisions in order to identify potential communication synergies and cross-promotional efforts

Digital Marketing and Social Media Management   

  • Designing and oversight of all aspects of digital marketing including the marketing database, email, and display advertising campaigns
  • Developing and monitoring campaign budgets
  • Planning and management of social media platforms
  • Preparing accurate reports on each marketing campaign’s overall performance
  • Coordinating with advertising and media experts to improve marketing results
  • Identifying the latest trends and technologies affecting our industry
  • Evaluating metrics that affect website traffic, service quotas, and target audience
  • Working with the team to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies
  • Oversight and management of all contests, giveaways and other digital projects


  • BS degree in Communications, Marketing or Digital Media is desired. MBA preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in digital marketing, brand management, and business development roles, preferably within the dietary supplements or food fortification markets and Agency 
  • Excellent cross-functional and interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels of complex organizations
  • Strong leadership, motivational and presentation skills
  • Effective planning, organization and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail and follow through
  • Self-motivated yet customer-focused
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate

The successful candidate must have:

  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, best practices, and website analytics
  • Solid understanding of WordPress
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels in CRM
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
  • Solid knowledge of adserving, website and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Omniture, WebTrends, SEMRush, etc.), and PPC optimization
  • Excellent analytical abilities
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Awareness of the latest trends and technologies in digital marketing
  • Experience working with and preferably managing professional agencies
  • A professional understanding of grammar, sentence structure, etc., and be able to write for multiple media
  • The desire to develop an understanding of the food and nutrition industry and the changing trends in the marketplace
  • A strong interest in working with key customers
  • The ability to handle work related pressures while meeting tight deadlines
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A basic understanding of strategic marketing objectives and the ability to develop plans to achieve objectives in both print and electronic media
  • Project management experience
