Job Description

We are looking for a hard-working Entry Level engineer to join our Engine development team! As an Engine Development Engineer you are responsible for planning, developing, and executing subsystem level tests in a world class testing and development facility. Tasks also include data analysis, calibration development, seeking opportunities for data reduction, and leading the migration of lab-based activities to math. This is an assignment where creativity, initiative and independent judgment are involved, and effective cross-organizational teamwork is crucial.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow development test unit through build process - support setup and debugging to assure test readiness
  • Oversee and report on testing progress and issues
  • Develop and execute first-time capable tests for calibration and hardware development
  • Diagnose and resolve issue that occur during setup and testing
  • Actively participate in Product Development Teams and work with Technical Experts to improve current tests and develop new tests. This may involve comprehending related ECU algorithms and associated calibration process
  • Utilize and create post processing tools to assure data quality and track usefulness of data in generation of final calibration or reports
  • Develop and implement standard work processes and procedures globally
  • Interact with facilities, technical leads, calibration teams, hardware release engineers, and others to improve process and test efficiency
  • Support math-based activities, migrating additional work from Road and Lab to Math based models and data analysis


Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related Engineering degree
  • Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Experience working with engines in a professional or co-op/internship environment
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines
  • Excellent Planning and Problem-Solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others, and ability to establish Peer Relationships
  • Ability to prioritize work & resources, and work independently with minimal direction


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Programing knowledge using MATLAB, C++, Python, etc.
  • Experience with system identification and plant modeling
  • Experience in data acquisition and analysis to optimize testing or model results
  • Exposure to propulsion system calibration in test and vehicle environment
  • Experience with Engine testing, calibration, or hardware development
