The Graphic Designer is responsible for executing the design and adaptation of assets supporting projects and initiative assets across the brand in support of the business plan, carrying out the creative vision as set by the Design Director, Art Directors, and the Head of Creative. 


The Graphic Designer is responsible for executing against the strategic direction aligned to via brand equity, brand architecture, and approved design direction with accuracy and efficiency.


As the creative engine behind the production of innovative designs, the Graphic Designer drives best-in-classs asset production and design solutions which champion and maintain brand equity, consistency, and innovation and lead to a competitive advantage. A strong sense of collaboration, organization, and initiative are required to support the needs of the brand and team.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design production of high volume asset toolkits to support brand campaign launches across all platforms.
  • Maintain best-in-class standards of execution, accuracy, and quality control to support brand consistency and equity.
  • Responsible for design and output of a wide range of toolkit deliverables spanning both digital and print assets across a wide variety of owned and 3rd party platforms.
  • Demonstrates strategic insights, category knowledge, and design vision for:
  • Digital design solutions: concept thru execution across web, email, and 3rd party retail
  • Social media asset design and production with an emphasis on dynamic content and industry trends
  • Brand Standards / Identity
  • Iterate on designs based on direction and feedback from creative leadership
  • Partner cross-functionally and internally to develop and implement design solutions and to drive accurate, on-time delivery of assets
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple projects.
  • Create assets for a variety of social platforms with an understanding of design considerations, platform-specific best practices, a strong awareness and understanding of industry trends across each platform.
  • Maintain all necessary processes and best practices with regard to production of assets, organization and information management.
  • Follow and maintain departmental processes, procedures, templates, and standards, and to identify issues and opportunities to escalate appropriately to seek aligned solutions
  • Build and deploy robust global toolkits and usage guides for campaign assets
  • Direction of external creative partners (i.e. photographers, retouchers, printers, etc.). Management of feedback, relationships, and results of external vendors as required.
  • Other design tasks and projects as required by the business.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of digital and print design methods, best practices, and standard operating procedures
  • Impeccable layout and typography skills. Ability to follow established direction and to adapt to address novel circumstances as needed.
  • Ability to work independently, with potential to manage and develop junior talent individually or as a team.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to navigate a complex work environment and seek necessary approvals, and escalate issues appropriately and clearly where needed.
  • Proactive with a bias for action – a self starter who takes initiative
  • Demonstrate strong visual, written, and oral communication skills
  • Up to 90% hands-on design work
  • Demonstrated ability to present own work clearly, articulate, and advocate for tactics to address aligned strategy; ability to flex where needed once a direction is aligned.
  • A customer-centric approach with a strong understanding of category best practices and a drive to learn more about the customer and how to best communicate with them.
  • Experience in the Health, Beauty, and fashion industry required, nail category experience is a plus
  • A strong understanding of industry and pop culture trends, social media creation, and competitive landscape.
  • Expert command of all design-related software: Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, XD). Fluency in 3D design software (Blender, Cinema 4D, or similar) is a plus.
  • Strong artwork mechanical production skills and an understanding of platform requirements and best practices is required.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Graphic Design or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of Design related experience

 

We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.


The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Pay Range: $75,000-$80,000 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role. In addition, Wella Company provides a rich variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance, life, and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
