We are looking for a motivated Designer (Graphic Designer) with a killer portfolio to play a key role in driving our brand forward from our Austin, Texas headquarters. Here, you’ll collaborate with the marketing team to deliver world-class work through all touch points of the brand. We need a strong conceptual thinker as well as a powerful, detail-oriented designer.


The ideal candidate is a conceptual and strategic thinker but also a design rockstar who loves to push pixels. You sweat the details and ‘good enough’ is never good enough for you. You love to collaborate but you are a self-starter who can work solo. You approach every project as if it’s going to be the highlight of your portfolio. You don’t let setbacks get in your way or affect your approach. You keep up with design, photography, social and digital/interactive trends on a regular basis. You have a passion for finding and creating the best solution to any problem placed in front of you.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide new creative thinking and high-level designs across all ROKA® needs: integrated campaigns, website assets, landing pages, emails, digital banners, social media, Strava Challenges, photography selections, animations, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, ACD, Designers, Web Developers, Marketers and other ROKA® teams to develop, create and design campaigns as well as tactical executions.
  • Present one’s own ideas and rationale for creative work.
  • Meet with the project manager as required to ensure timely, accurate completion of all assigned projects/work.
  • Participate in brainstorms and ideation sessions.
  • Collaborate and share ideas and best practices with creative and marketing peers.


Must Haves: 

  • Real World Experience
  • Degree in Art, Graphic Design
  • 3+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer in a fast-paced environment (working at a content/marketing/advertising agency or a similar brand and working in a digital environment are highly preferred)
  • Online portfolio must show extremely strong conceptual and design skills.
  • Must have experience and comfortable working in a fast-paced creative team environment.
  • Ability to manage one’s own workload, deadlines and schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Able to self-direct and multi-task, organized self-starter and independent worker.
  • Expert level in Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat).
  • Animation/motion graphics experience
  • Possesses a sound understanding and differences between print and digital/interactive typography principles.
  • An intuitive, empathic understanding of people, and an ability to hypothesize why a given message may or may not resonate with a given audience.
  • You enjoy taking initiative and are comfortable tackling problems in uncertain or ambiguous situations.
  • You are intellectually curious and have a bias towards rapidly learning new skills or things that interest you.
  • Demonstrate hard work ethics and extreme attention to detail.
  • Exceptional teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand our market and products.


Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of or skilled at UX/UI on all digital and social platforms.
  • Abilities in other creative software such as Figma, Sketch App, Adobe MAX, InVision.
  • Experience working in office as well as remotely with teams in other locations and time zones.
  • Major plus: Passion for an active lifestyle, endurance sport, competition, and/or the arts. We are looking for passionate people with lifelong pursuits.


Work Location: 

ROKA® is located in Austin, TX, USA. The Company is on a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must be prepared to work on-site as often as needed per the Department’s business needs. Remote candidates will not be considered for this position.
