Design Manager

The Brand Design Manager is a senior designer responsible for the management and execution of comprehensive brand and graphic design projects within the Global portfolio. Successful candidates will demonstrate superior ability to inspire and engage cross-functional teams, and drive from ideation to execution quality brand design solutions, directly executing them or working with external partners.


The main objective of this role is to execute major brand design projects, strategies and innovations across the Rockstar brand portfolio. This means planning, organizing, and implementing consistent design principles and production processes to ensure that the design, strategy and production guardrails are met.


Overview:

  • Work alongside the Internal Design Team reporting to Sr Design Director and Sr Design Manager on all projects.
  • Partner with Internal Marketing Teams to craft compelling design solutions across many touchpoints for the Rockstar Energy Brand.
  • Looking for a super talented and hands-on Designer to develop packaging, graphic toolkits, key visuals, mockups, concepts, and presentations for 360 design solutions as well as craft design briefs for outside partners and agencies.
  • This is a hybrid role. Looking for a candidate who will have a passion to design but also co-manage designers on projects, attend meetings, and be responsible for seeing projects through to completion while reporting up to Sr Design leadership.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience in CPG with an emphasis on beverage design with a high-level understanding of the commercial printing process on aluminum cans.
  • Have the ability to work fast in a dynamic work environment and is comfortable with risk and uncertainty.
  • Effectively communicates (verbally and written) with internal and external stakeholders across all levels.
  • Should have a mastery level of understanding of the Adobe Suite with emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Should display exceptional typography and layout skills with attention to detail.
  • 3D and motion skills are nice to have.


Accountabilities:

Strategy & Innovation:

  • Work alongside the Strategy & Innovation Team to design, develop, and execute label and pack designs for product innovation from concept through production.


Gaming:

  • Work alongside Commercial Marketing and Gaming Team to help develop national Gaming programs with LTO innovation, and 360 retail tools.


Commercial Marketing:

  • Lead concept design of Key Visuals for product innovation as it relates to Sector driven Commercial Programming.
  • Working with the Commercial Team to provide toolkit assets, on retail creative from Division and Sector Marketing.
  • Support Division Design Managers with toolkits and assets, etc.


Brand X- Grass Roots Sampling, College Marketing:

  • Aid in the design and concepts for branded activation and sampling materials for events.


Music & Culture:

  • Aid in the design and concepts for branded music events including digital and physical experiences, etc.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • A minimum of 10 years prior marketing/design experience
  • Deep understanding/experience within consumer packaged goods
  • Advanced understanding and usage of Adobe CS and Office suite software
  • Solid executive presence, leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Prior experience managing design resources
  • Strong/effective creative briefs to internal and or external agencies
