Design Engineer Intern
The Design Engineer Intern is responsible for supporting the R&D department by participating in design activities, building/testing prototypes, preparing test samples, and performing Engineering analysis to ensure designs meet requirements. Also provides drafting/modeling and document management support and participates in prototype builds, buck builds and install windows and doors for testing.
This Internship will be for summer 2025.
Highlights of your role
- Desire and ability to learn how to create innovative designs that meet the needs of the project
- Ability to use problem-solving skills to create solutions
- Ability to collaborate and work with others well
- Experience designing products preferred
- A hands-on background in the building and testing of products a plus
- Experience designing injection molded, aluminum and plastic extrusion, metal stampings, hardware, and mechanical systems preferred
- Develop design testing plans and execute
- Develop proper documentation and specifications of designs
- Work with external suppliers to ensure component capability
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)
- Must be enrolled in an Engineering degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree
- Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Modeling software (Inventor preferred) and Microsoft
- Must be able to be a positive member of a team environment, an individual who possesses self-motivation skills and is dependable and trustworthy
- Must be able to problem-solve and communicate effectively
- Must possess proficient organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking abilities and be able to work with power tools and computer equipment
