Design Assistant

Culver City, CA

We have an exciting opening for a newly created position of Design Assistant. This person will be the glue of the design team in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who can roll with several different tasks, competing priorities and multiple projects at any given time.

Responsibilities:

Assisting the design team in all aspects of support.
Tagging samples when they arrive.
Filing and organizing materials and submits.
Updating line sheets and design tools.
Distributing tools needs to team members.
Creating trim and fabric presentation boards.
Organizing digital files.
Updating tech packs and BOMs.
Design and trend research as directed.
Communication with vendors and resources.
Follow up and project tracking for developments.
Being a team player.
Representing Cuts in a positive way.

Key Skills:

Up for anything big or small.
Basic apparel knowledge of mens and women’s apparel.
Basic material knowledge of knits and wovens.
Drawing skills on Illustrator (flat sketches a must, figure a plus).
Organization
Presentation skills - board creation, sample boards and decks in Keynote or Google sheets.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, PDM, Photoshop, Google suite).
Communication skills - ability to be clear, concise and direct.
Feedback - ability to take feedback and learn.
Teamwork - always being helpful to the team and willing to help out where needed.
Enthusiastic - bringing your A game and best work.
Be a sponge - always willing to learn from the team.
Must be a self starter, motivated team-player and multi-tasker.
Being flexible to changes.
