The Data Analyst supports all of Tinuiti’s strategic finance needs by wrangling the company’s data for the purpose of driving insights, tracking & reporting performance metrics, and improving the efficiency of the finance team through automation. This is an ambitious individual who is excited by the challenge of solving tough, often ambiguous problems in a fast-paced, dynamic space. They are able to make well-informed recommendations based on data and analysis. They can communicate their findings and recommendations verbally and in concise and actionable reports. Intellectual curiosity and a desire to learn are a requirement for this role. This role reports into the Director of Finance.

 

What you'll do:

  • Partner with the finance team to understand data and reporting needs and build out database structures and/or datasets to meet these needs
  • Analyze and document current processes with the goal of streamlining and improving them
  • Manipulate and analyze data with varying formats, quality, and accuracy while maintaining the integrity of the data
  • Research data issues, identify solutions, and communicate to appropriate teams; implement data cleansing and data improvement initiatives
  • Create and maintain dashboards that provide insights to stakeholders
  • Assist with the preparation of executive presentation content
  • Prepare ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed

  • Data Analysis: Understands proper data structure and combines data from different sources to form conclusions through utilization of SQL, Tableau, and/or other tools
  • Collaboration & Communication: Exhibits effective cross-functional communication through delivery of simplified data breakdown for stakeholders; establishes rapport and expectations across all levels of the Finance team to streamline communication and meet deadlines; 
  • Presenting Data in a Meaningful Way: Creates & presents attractive, easy-to-understand content (e.g. presentations, spreadsheets, Tableau) to groups of all sizes and people at all levels of the organization to guide strategic decisions; strong storyteller who can convert data into insight that is actionable
  • Time Management: Manages multiple responsibilities in a constantly evolving environment to meet deadlines and work efficiently; effectively communicates status updates to team members and managers to manage expectations; works effectively independently
  • Action Oriented: Possesses a strategic mindset and the ability to see and act within the bigger picture while connecting dots and finding opportunities for collaboration; “hands-on” approach, willingness to roll up sleeves and dig in; natural curiosity about how things work; enjoys working hard; full of energy for new challenges

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field: computer science, data science, mathematics, finance
  • Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., BigQuery)
  • Prior experience as a Data Analyst
  • 3+ years experience in advanced analytics, delivering actionable insights from data, database and big data analytics environments
  • 1+ years experience with business intelligence (data visualization and dashboarding) tools such as Tableau
  • Proficiency with SQL


Preferred:

  • Familiarity with ETL tools such as Fivetran
  • Data governance experience including data definition, issue management and data quality analysis
  • 1+ years of experience in a finance department
