Data Analyst

We have the ability to hire at the Associate or Mid-level for this position. In this role, you'll work a hybrid schedule of 3 days on site at our corporate offices in Mason, Michigan, and up to 2 days remote. 


Dart is seeking a Data Analyst at the Associate or Mid-level who will support enterprise data quality activities and strategic data projects to meet business data quality requirements. In this role you will provide routine level support for master data management functions.


Day-to-Day Role:

Associate Data Analyst will:

  • Utilize enterprise data standards to ensure data quality is maintained according to enterprise requirements.
  • Assist in establishing design and program rules, views and dashboards based on governance rules defined by business owners
  • Perform data analysis, data profiling, data modeling, and data mapping
  • Assist in defining standards and best practices for data analysis, modeling, and queries
  • Assist in resolving data quality problems through error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies
  • Work closely with Data Stewards to ensure elements are governed in compliance with controls and standards
  • Work closely with business and IT departments to ensure solutions adhere to company data guidelines
  • Work closely with Data Stewards and IT to create metadata profile documentation
  • Discover data quality gaps and propose improvements
  • Assist in the development of data metrics in order to meet and exceed required quality levels
  • Administer assigned components of systems, programs and processes according to established policies and procedures
  • Participate in project teams to deliver data quality
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner for IT developers
  • Write and execute test scenarios and scripts to validate requirements
  • Develop proficiency with company systems to effectively support department functions
  • Provide input for training programs associated with assigned responsibilities and projects
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Remediate rule results from data governance setup in systems including the coordination of updates
  • Employ various analytical tools as needed to support the governance of master data including Power BI, Information Steward, etc.


In addition to the above, the mid-level Data Analyst will also:

  • Design and program rules, views and dashboards based on governance rules defined by business owners
  • Develop data metrics in order to meet and exceed required quality levels
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to Associate Data Analyst personnel


Core Skills and Qualifications:

Associate Data Analyst requires:

  • One (1) year of experience performing data analysis and/or data profiling
  • One (1) year of SAP experience
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively discuss topics in a group setting


Mid-level Data Analyst requires:

  • Three (3) years of experience performing data analysis and/or data profiling
  • Three (3) years of SAP experience
  • Demonstrated high level of organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively present to an audience


In addition to the above, both levels require:

  • Requires one of the following: 
  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, Supply Chain or related field of study, OR
  • Associates degree and two (2) years of business experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers
  • Proven analytical problem solver
  • Ability to identify issues, compare data, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
  • Microsoft Word skills to include the ability to create reports containing graphs and other intermediate functions
  • Microsoft Excel skills to include the ability to create spreadsheets (e.g., formulas such as V-lookup, graphs, pivot tables, data modeling)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint skills to include the ability to create presentations and add slides, insert images, move and resize objects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to think strategically and see how parts interact with the big picture
  • Ability to streamline processes, integrate, and associate pieces of information gathered from multiple sources and apply to projects
  • Ability to maintain composure when faced with stressful situations


Preferred skills and experience for both levels:

  • Experience using Agile solutions
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Information Steward
  • SQL, Database, or other programming experience
