Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
Apply your classroom-learned skills to a program supporting the defense of our country. GDMS has an immediate opening for an Cyber Engineering Intern to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
College course exposure to Computer Science and/or Engineering concepts, coursework, and projects.
The candidate will have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding and configuration management. Candidate must have effective oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment. Understanding of Cyber industry/DoD best practices for confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with STIGs, NIST standards, and security controls is a plus.
The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission. - Must have taken basic networking courses that focus on router, switch, and/or firewall configuration development or troubleshooting
- Hands on experience with creating, loading, or troubleshooting network configurations a plus
- The selected candidate will be given tasks appropriate for their level and will work with mentors to develop their skills as needed
DoD 8570 Certification Level II (Sec+) is required at start.
Selected candidate will be processed for a full secret clearance upon acceptance of the position. Clearance must be in place before start.
Target salary range: USD $80,500.00/Yr. - USD $82,900.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
