Customer Communications Specialist (Writer)

Customer Communication Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of clear and effective communications. This position will focus on communicating to U.S. Bank customers about key internal and external events. Must have the ability to write accurately, clearly, on-brand, and seek to provide the best customer experience possible. Must also be able to adapt and manage multiple, quick-paced projects with fast approaching deadlines. 


 Responsibilities

• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

• Ability to quickly assimilate new information regarding specific product and technical topics and write accurately about those topics or concepts immediately after introduction

• Strong organizational skills and an eye for presentation and details

• Ability to work under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects

• Ability to quickly adapt in an ever-changing environment. 

• Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to fully understand the customer communication needs and adapt responses based on proactive discovery with key stakeholders.

• Deliver customer-centric, multi-channel communications responses to maximize customer retention and reduce reputational risk. 

• Evaluate and measure customer responsiveness to optimize messaging.

• Work with, and sometimes lead, cross-functional teams to produce materials that are accurate, branded and compliant.

• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure that all communication programs are in accordance with all laws, regulations and bank policies. 

• Provide solutions/problem solve.

• Accountable for completing projects on time and on budget, as outlined in project plans.

• Provide communication resources, expertise and guidance for business line leaders.

• Communicate effectively with senior management.

• Be aware of changing market dynamics and collaborate with third party vendors and partners to test and learn new ways to engage and communicate with customers and prospects.


Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

- Six or more years of related experience in marketing and marketing strategy with proven ability to deliver results


Preferred Skills/Experience

- Copywriting experience focused on strategic communications

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to fast-paced deadlines

- Enjoy working in a collaborative, matrixed organization. 

- Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field

- MBA or equivalent markers of high achievement are a plus
