OVERVIEW: This position reports directly to the Cultivation Section Lead and is responsible for proper leadership of a team of 5-7 Cultivation Technicians ensuring proper plant health. The Cultivation Lead performs their duties in compliance with the company policy, laws and rules governed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead and manage a team of 5-7 team members including: punctuality, attendance, records, discipline, performance reviews, and training 
  • Tracking team members metrics for pace and quality of work, ensuring that the team is doing the work that is assigned to them 
  • Divide and direct the team as necessary to ensure all tasks are accomplished  
  • Perform monthly skill reviews of all team members 
  • Constant improvement of the team’s efficiency and performance in all cultivation tasks 
  • Report on daily activities to the section lead 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and take initiative  
  • General understanding of lean practices and implementation 


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • This position is responsible supervisory of a team of 5-7 Cultivation Technicians.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ELIGIBILITY and TRAINING: 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.  
  • Must be able to pass background check 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
  • Associates degree or higher in horticulture, plant and soil sciences, or relevant agricultural experience or scientific experience related to cultivation of medicinal cannabis preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  

The position must occasionally lift, push, pull and or move up to 25 pounds, While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit and regularly use hand(s) to handle, grasp, feel, and or touch. This position is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  This position is regularly required bend, stretch, squat, climb, twist, lift, grip, stand, and push/pull. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

This position performs duties in a manufacturing/food safety setting.
