SoundCloud is looking for a Creator Analyst intern to join the Artist Marketing team in our New York office.  


This role will provide a variety of analytics support across our Creator data ecosystem. The ideal candidate will pair their data analytics experience with critical thinking and organization skills to drive forward a variety of projects such as developing marketing and performance reports for our artists and internal stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will be versed in data engineering, analysis, and visualization; and will pair their business acumen and communication skills to both build novel pipelines to uncover new insights and communicate their findings to relevant teams across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our analytics roadmap (e.g. building out infrastructure and visualizations for dashboards around consumption, playlisting, marketing performance, etc.)
  • Support role across several projects
  • Completely own at least one project
  • Assist with ad-hoc data requests (e.g. data validation, dashboard enhancements, data cleansing, etc.)


About You:

  • Must be a current student or recent graduate from an accredited university
  • Must be able to commit to working 40hrs/week for 10 weeks (June 13th - Aug 19th) 
  • Technical skills:
  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; Advanced scripting, querying is a plus
  • Experience with SQL (ideally as both an engineer and analyst)
  • Experience with Data Warehouse infrastructure (e.g. BigQuery). Understanding of key concepts as well as experience designing and deploying ETLs in order to transform big data into meaningful business information.
  • Ability to work with large, complex data sets from multiple sources while maintaining excellent data management practices.
  • Experience developing BI dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI or equivalent)
  • Be passionate about music; focus on up and coming talent is a plus
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail paired with a hands-on approach with thorough analysis
  • Have a balance of creativity while being technically sound; we’ll need creative data architecting to aggregate various data sources but need the final product to be reliable and operational.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance priorities across multiple teams. Ability to handle complex situations with clarity and confidence.
  • Excellent ability to build relationships and networks with multiple functions, regions, and at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with both technical and business audiences
  • Strong communication/presentation skills
  • Strong resiliency and ambition to get things done despite an often-changing market and competitive situation.
  • Must strive to deliver excellent work quality
