Position: Creative Director, Design

As Creative Director, you are responsible for the oversight of visual creative for brand and product Sephora marketing across all channels, as well as preserving and enforcing the Sephora branding. Reporting to the Creative Vice President, work will span the spectrum of concepting campaigns and new Sephora programs, inspiring and coaching a team, working collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization, helping scale up the Sephora marketing business by finding efficiencies in process, and working with strategic agency partners.

 

This senior leader is a curious, people-focused, and results-oriented leader who can guide a high functioning and diverse team. He/She/They must know when to provide creative direction and help their team flourish, and when to roll up their sleeves and jump in to problem solve. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment where multiple creative projects with different partners throughout the business may be running concurrently and be able to guide their team successfully to deliver best in class outcomes. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Partner with other creative directors and support the creative VP in leading your team to develop strategic marketing campaign concepts to provide creative solutions that meets business objectives.
  • Lead multiple projects and manage/motivate multiple teams of designers.
  • Direct your team to build concept boards, photo briefs, and design across multiple channels: both instore and digital.
  • Oversee photoshoots and art direction at high level.
  • Delegate/Assign work, including monitoring team bandwidth and finding synergies where possible.
  • Partner closely with Editorial, Visual Merchandising, Content Production and Marketing to develop and deliver robust 360 client experience.
  • Build relationships with cross-functional partners across the organization at the Sr. Director and above level.
  • Collaborate with our agency partners.
  • Deliver work focusing on what is best for our clients.

We would love to hear from you if you meet the following:

  • 13+ years of design and art direction experience.
  • BA or BFA preferred in Graphic Design or Communication Design.
  • Knowledge and experience in retail, beauty/fashion and understand current industry related trends
  • Management experience of a large team.
  • Experience concepting/design/art directing campaigns.
  • Experience in a variety of marketing channels including retail as well as digital.
  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented; time management skills, ability to juggle priorities and multiple projects.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and consensus-building kills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to collaborate and work with a variety of people in various disciplines.
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with ability to explain creative direction to non-designers by highlighting how the creative will solve the business challenge.
  • Manage ambiguity – operate calmly and effectively when things are not always clear.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and meet tight deadlines. #LI-SCR
