DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

  • Responsible for IP enforcement for Nintendo brands including customs level enforcement across multiple jurisdictions, investigations and online enforcement in coordination with counsel
  • Provides legal advice on complex intellectual property enforcement issues
  • Management of IP enforcement related litigation across multiple jurisdictions in consultation with counsel
  • Prepares legal documents, settlement agreements, written reports, presentations and updates relevant to a global executive audience
  • Communicates with parent company, outside contacts, including outside counsel, partner companies, industry representatives, governmental representatives, and other parties as needed
  • Pursues and maintains most current knowledge of company business, products and technology
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional international teams that support global enforcement activities on behalf of Nintendo
  • Develops and delivers anti-counterfeiting training materials to external national and regional law enforcement and customs authorities as well as awareness trainings for internal stakeholders
  • Assists with other IP tasks in support of company objectives as needed
  • Assists with budget development and global compliance
  • May have direct or indirect responsibilities for leading and developing a team
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel


SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS

  • Four or more years related experience
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement IP enforcement strategies
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Maintains knowledge of current legal issues in the area of intellectual property and enforcement, with a focus on copyright and trademark law knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Law degree and membership in the Washington State Bar Association, or other comparable state qualification
