Corporate Communications Specialist

Franklin, TN

The role of the Corporate Communications Specialist is to help build our corporate and brand reputation by planning and executing a range of initiatives in support of our purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS. Work will include executing external activations with community partners, driving internal Associate engagement, content creation, and thought leadership programs to elevate the profile of the company and support the organization’s priorities.  This role will collaborate with Associates across the business as well as community and agency partners.


What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or associated profession is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 3-5 years relevant professional experience in brand communications with proven success leading, developing, and managing communications programs.
  • Agency experience a plus


What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Develop year-long Mars Volunteer Program strategy in support of animal welfare and EI&D community partners, ensuring the program effectively delivers on our purpose. Partner with Event Specialist to deliver and execute the programming, including identifying, supporting, and tracking Associate volunteer opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with key community partners.
  • Support execution of Brand PR, corporate communications, and BETTER CITIES FOR PETS initiatives, through compelling storytelling, community engagement, and stakeholder relations.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for Mars Petcare manufacturing network for all external affairs needs, including media inquiries, site visit and event request, and issues management as needed.
  • Serve as lead and primary point of contact for all charitable contribution requests and collaborate with internal and external partners to fulfil as needed.
  • Support budget management for all Brand PR and external programs in partnership with finance and budget owners, ensuring delivery of budget targets.
