Copywriter

Real is a venture-backed mental healthcare company based in New York City. We are redesigning mental healthcare through a digital platform and in-person experience, with our first mental health studio opening in New York City in 2021. Our goal is to integrate empathy, design, and progressive care to build the most elevated end-to-end mental healthcare experience, while also improving the quality of care itself. Our team of innovators, clinicians, and technologists is on a mission to make caring for our mental health a priority.

We’re looking for a Copywriter who is passionate about mental wellness.


The Copywriter will contribute to the company’s growth by bringing the brand voice to life at a range of consumer touchpoints across channels. Collaborating closely with our Experience, Product, and Marketing teams, you’ll write and edit engaging copy for our in-product experiences, brand campaigns, website and landing pages, and native products. We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for mental health who will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. This role reports to the Head of Marketing.


Our ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience in copywriting for a consumer brand, ideally working in startups.


In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Writing and editing copy in the Real brand voice and tone
  • Writing product copy for desktop, mobile, and app, creating experiences that are both digestible and delightful 
  • Writing and editing content from our Therapy team, bringing clinical concepts to life in a conversational, accessible tone
  • Writing and editing copy for paid social ads, paid search, and OOH campaigns in conjunction with a stellar agency team
  • Writing copy for member communications, optimizing for engagement
  • Writing and editing scripts for recording by both internal and external partners
  • Working with Heads of Experience, Digital, Member Success, and Marketing to understand their needs and prioritize projects accordingly
  • Iterate on and strategize Real’s brand voice and tone, finding new ways to refine our messaging and key points

You have:

  • 3+ years of professional copywriting experience
  • Great grammar and an eye for detail in spelling and punctuation
  • The ability to translate complex subjects into clear, concise copy
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once
  • A proactive work ethic and can-do attitude
  • Solid communication skills and eagerness to learn and collaborate across teams
  • A pulse on cultural conversions and trends

  • Experience working in healthcare in addition to consumer
  • A passion for improving the mental healthcare system
  • Experience working on product copy
