The New Republic is looking for an experienced copy editor to work on an on-call basis during staff holidays and vacations.
This contract position is a telecommuting role at this time. The copy editor will edit approximately seven web articles a day, plus newsletters and marketing copy. A quick but careful editor with a sharp eye for detail, the candidate should be able to pivot from news to newsletters and know how to prioritize assignments and manage time wisely.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates should have at least three years of copy editing experience, preferably at a news website or magazine.
- Candidates should have experience with basic fact checking.
