As an important part of the IMAX Marketing organization, the Digital team is looking for a coordinator to join the team and support the growth of our digital presence. Our mission is to develop IMAX’s digital footprint and establish a distinctive fan-first tone of voice across key social and digital platforms. This new role is an important part of the social and digital marketing team.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare, schedule and post social content across multiple platforms in accordance with the content calendar
  • Compile and reply to trending social media posts to increase IMAX's relevancy and social footprint
  • Monitor IMAX social media channels and report community updates to the Manager
  • Review, draft and edit social copy that communicates approved campaign messaging while maintaining a fan-first and social-first tone of voice
  • Social listening to help identify ongoing trends, monitor competitive brands and report on community sentiment
  • Support in project management of key social campaigns to ensure asset delivery and deadlines are met across social, creative and agency teams
  • Bring creative ideas to the table and participate in idea strategies to creatively engage with IMAX’s social community with the Manager and Social Agency
  • Stay relevant on entertainment and social media news and trends
  • Support the digital and marketing team with various daily administrative tasks


What we’re looking for:

  • 2+ years experience in a digital/social or communications role, in-house or agency-side
  • Experience in community management: publishing social posts, engaging audiences on a variety of social media platforms, and social listening
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to develop creative, engaging and original social content
  • Strong knowledge and fluency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Proficient in word processing applications, spreadsheets, presentation software and social media management tools
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
  • A deeply passionate colleague and partner who loves to make, loves to challenge themselves and is not afraid to step outside their comfort zone to try something new
  • Excellent time management (sets delivery expectations accordingly) and creative problem-solving skills
  • Able to meet deadlines while still delivering work product that reflect the IMAX brand’s high standards
  • Organized and detail-oriented while under tight deadlines; handles multiple projects and effectively prioritizes assignments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Background in advertising and copywriting
  • A quick learner, a self-starter, able to work independently, and willingness (and ability) to handle the pressures of an increasing level of responsibility


The ideal candidate:

  • Digital Expertise Creative - Knowledge of digital platforms and basic understanding of how to community manage across social channels
  • Collaborative - Works well with others, manages partners and colleagues proactively and effectively, seeks appropriate advice, input and sign off. Happy to roll up their sleeves and help out even outside their area of expertise
  • Proactive - Able to identify problems and opportunities and self-start solutions. Doesn’t wait passively for instructions, information and answers
  • Culture awareness - On the pulse of culture, pop culture, movie culture and fan culture. Especially relating to tenpoles, blockbusters, and genre films.
  • Passionate - Brings energy, joy and drive to everything he/she/they does.
  • Creative - Desire to participate and initiate ideas on how to engage fans with IMAX social activations and review/draft social copy


Compensation:
