Coordinator, Retail Planning

This role is a great opportunity to develop retail, marketing and analytical skills by assisting on BBC Studios’ DTC businesses across Amazon and our own ecommerce platform, BBC SHOP. The candidate will gain immeasurable knowledge of the largest online retailer in the world, while working with some of the world’s best brands (Doctor Who, Bluey, Top Gear, BBC Earth, etc.). The BBC Shop e-commerce team markets and sells British merchandise as well as BBC branded merchandise around our core portfolio of brands.


Role Responsibility

  • Assist in creating marketing calendar and implementing campaigns via email and social posts.
  • Add products to BBC Shop e-commerce site
  • Communicate with various e-commerce site vendors and test new features
  • Communicate internal sales updates to entire Sales and Account Management teams via weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports
  • Monitor monthly partner remittance statements to ensure that all royalty payments paid to BBC Studios are valid based on content licensing agreements
  • Perform in-depth analysis to identify key business risks and opportunities and make recommendations to improve overall profitability.
  • Add pre order physical products to Amazon, and confirm all detail page information is correct
  • Review current physical catalogue to help ensure BBC Studios is winning the Buy Box
  • Assist with the execution and evaluation of Amazon Advertising programs for both physical and digital products
  • Execute ad hoc directives from team, department and divisional leads


Scope & Impact

  • On the DTC side:
  • Assisting the e-commerce team with maintaining and analysing marketing traffic via social media and DTC email marketing campaigns
  • Manage and build campaigns from the onset all the way to recapping successes, failures, and what can be done better next time around
  • On the retail side:
  • Daily responsibilities focused on Amazon, including
  • Digital downloads
  • Physical products (DVDs, BDs, and 4K UHD)
  • Amazon Advertising
  • Take ownership of efforts to ensure that BBCS physical products are positioned correctly and priced to ensure sell-through and help manage and be the second lead in all Amazon Advertising campaigns, including building, running, and analysing campaigns.


Relationships

  • Work with various teams across the company from senior executives to other coordinators in the local office along with colleagues in the UK
  • Cultivate relationships and communication with outside vendors and retailers across the digital and physical landscape

Knowledge & Skills

  • Intermediate Excel (vlookups, formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and Powerpoint
  • Basic knowledge of e-commerce marketing and analytics (creating emails, evaluating performance, etc.)
  • Interest in the world of e-commerce (from O&O platforms to Amazon retail)
  • Enthusiast for film and TV content (both current and historical)


Professional Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, media or communications
  • 1-2 years professional work experience
