Coordinator, Production Strategy & Operations

The mission of the Production Strategy & Operations (PS&O) team is to empower the Studio to achieve its operational goals and creative pursuits through production solutions, technology, resource assurance, and workflow optimization. PS&O is a global team that supports the Physical Production teams (Production Management, Post, VFX, Music & Safety) across the UCAN, LATAM, APAC and EMEA/UK regions. The Regional PS&O team represents PS&O in region, partners with Physical Production teams to support the execution of global projects and surface regional needs, which are all managed via centralised Project Management Office (PMO).

We are not necessarily looking for a traditional project manager.  The role of managing projects at this intersection of creativity and technology is often not well-defined. We are looking for someone who not only understands the studio and industry space and challenges, but also has experience taking charge and managing projects related to it who can bring our initiatives to fruition. 

 

The Project Manager PS&O UCAN, will work closely with the UCAN Regional Director to guide the execution of projects by working to streamline and foster effective communication and alignment. 


Responsibilities:

  • Leads and executes core components of projects and initiatives as defined by the UCAN Regional Director
  • Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to keep teams updated on status of all UCAN Regional projects and initiatives
  • Ensure project tasks and status are kept updated on internal productivity and collaboration tools for the UCAN Regional Director and team (e.g. Monday.com, AirTable and Miro) 
  • Maintain a repository of all documents and reference that memorializes UCAN PS&O regional activity
  • Work with the UCAN Regional Director on research, documentation and logistics for their projects, which can include creation of memos & presentation decks and coordinating meetings with Stakeholders.
  • Represent the PS&O team internally with the UCAN Physical Production and cross functional teams, troubleshooting and responding to queries through team communication channels (e.g. Slack, memos, office hours etc) and acting as a Stakeholder on other teams’ projects to represent the S&O perspective. 
  • Developing and presenting comprehensive project plans evaluating scope, requirements, and level of effort for regional initiatives.
  • Partnering on programming internal Physical Production Forums, which can include creation of presentation decks and being a presenter as needed. 


Qualifications:

  • MBA/BA/BS Degree
  • 3+ years experience as a Production/Project Coordinator or Manager in a media or management consultancy environment
  • Familiarity with end-to-end television series and film production, especially in post & VFX.  
  • Detail oriented and highly organized with a knack for finding inefficiencies and a strong will to fix them
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask a high volume of tasks, problem solve and offer creative solutions
  • Team-player who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative setting
  • Interest in learning about data driven decision making and basics of several internal data tools and applications
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter, sometimes with ambiguous parameters, when needed
  • Discreet and able to maintain confidential information  
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack and Monday.com (or similar project management or productivity applications) with the ability to learn and implement new tools/systems
  • Fluent written and spoken English proficiency is essential. Additional language(s) a plus
  • Experience working with teams across geographies and a passion for understanding languages, cultures and nuances of worldwide production practices
  • Interest and ability to operate within Netflix culture and champion the culture for the team
