Contracts Manager

Los Alamitos, CA

The Contracts Manager is a key member of the Legal Department, assisting in the engagement of customers and sales across all departments and driving processes and practices to improve the efficiency of our Legal team. The primary focus of the Contracts Manager role will be to implement and execute contract management processes and systems as well as provide expertise in negotiating and drafting a variety of business contracts, and to bring knowledge, experience, and leadership to drive operational performance in the Legal department and across the broader organization.

 

This position can be 100% remote. It is preferred that the Contracts Manager be local to Epson America’s headquarters in Los Alamitos, CA. Local candidates will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule out of headquarters, with the majority of the time being remote.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

In addition to the following Epson policies and procedures, the Contracts Manager’s principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing intake from internal clients for contract requests, independently reviews, and drafts contractual terms and conditions requested by internal clients and escalating significant legal issues to the department lawyers
  • Implementing and managing contract processes 
  • Developing and implementing procedures and controls to monitor and measure the impact and efficacy of contract management processes and systems 
  • Developing and managing key metrics, objectives and reporting procedures for continuous improvement
  • Negotiating amendments, addenda, SOW’s and project statements, non-disclosure agreements and improving use of templates
  • Working directly and independently with internal departments to coordinate and facilitate process requirements, and consolidating multiple sources of information into a comprehensive and cohesive process inclusive of all stakeholder input
  • Assisting with all aspects of contract execution, including preparation of exhibits, collection of notarization/apostilles, and the DocuSign/signature process
  • Strategize with business teams and provide guidance on procurement processes
  • Developing processes and procedures to ensure accurate tracking, approvals and record keeping 
  • Participating in department projects and contributing to process improvement initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency with the Legal team’s systems, software, technologies and controls
  • Works under the general supervision of a department lawyer

   

What you will bring:

  • 8-12 years of increasingly responsible experience in contract administration and interpretation including paralegal work
  • Completion of an undergraduate program (B.A./B.S.) or graduate degree (J.D., M.B.A.) preferred
  • Must have strong program and process implementation and management experience
  • Must demonstrate experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and improving processes and systems 
  • Must have strong legal sense and previous work experience working with large scale contracts
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Must have ability to make sound interpretations independently
  • Ability to negotiate with varying levels and strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and team player
