Contracts Analyst

The Contracts Analyst is responsible for developing solutions for performing complex and specialized duties related to the preparation and processing of contracts for a wide variety of good and services in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies at Alaska Air.


As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve on monitor and coordinate the contract approval process from contract generation to contract execution for all contracts; and serves as the Custodian of Records for all contracts.


Key Duties

  • Develops contracts for approval based on developed templates for goods and services.
  • Develops and monitors and coordinates the contract approval process from contract generation to contract execution for all contracts, which includes distribution of all contracts, amendments, and extensions as assigned.
  • Makes recommendations as Custodian of Records for all contracts and develops and maintains database for tracking all assigned contracts and related documents.
  • Assures accuracy of contracts and appropriate approval signatures, and modifies contracts for amendments, extensions and change orders.
  • Confers with requestors to administer assigned contracts and agreements, agreement amendments, memorandums of understanding (MOUs), correspondence and reports.
  • Responds to questions concerning the interpretation, requirements, terms and limitations of contracts and legal agreements.
  • Participates in developing periodic reports to management concerning contract activities as needed.
  • Performs research through various methods to determine conformance of proposed contracts for the purpose of making recommendations to properly executing a given contract.
  • Develops training materials and provide training to staff on company procedures related to the contract approval process.
  • Assures that all documents are completed in accordance with established policies, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Attends trainings, workshops, and other professional development events to maintain current knowledge and identify emerging trends related to assigned duties.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of records and reports related to section activities, budget, and personnel.


Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 2 years of contract processing and administration or related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Skills are required to apply company, state and federal policies and regulations; operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications; preparing and maintaining accurate records; analyzing data; using pertinent software applications.
  • Create strong customer and transportation carrier relationships.
  • Ability to perform complex and specialized duties related to contract preparation, interpretation, and processing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the business.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary Range

$74,400 -- $111,600 / year


Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.


Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
