Your New Role...

The Content Transmission Specialist I’s primary tasks are to provide transmission services across News, Sports, and Entertainment. This position requires a willingness to learn innovative technologies and requires a basic knowledge of Broadcast Television signal transmission workflows. This includes the ability to operate equipment related to various transmission formats over satellite, fiber, and IP infrastructures.


This position utilizes Warner Bros Discovery’s engineering infrastructure, transmission services, internal clients, and vendor services to deliver content to our partners. It requires that you build a working knowledge and understanding of the full-time and occasional use receive and transmit infrastructure that connects Warner Bros Discovery, CNN bureaus, affiliates, vendors, and remote locations.


Candidate is expected to become fully proficient in scheduling system(s) used for provisioning transmissions, cost accruals and billing. They will work closely with our Business Administration teams on billing, reconciliation of disputes and discrepancies. The position requires constant daily interaction with other team members and clients in receiving and provisioning transmission requests. Other requirements are the ability to work across other teams and to manage information between staff, clients, and vendors. This position requires flexibility and understanding to propose or accept alternate transmission or technical solutions to meet customers’ needs.


To successfully execute events and projects this position requires that you work with customers, vendors, managers, staff, and others in gathering requirements, gaining approvals and consensus, and execution. In addition, to review and update standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and Internal platforms with management.  This position must work well under pressure, be able to multitask, be extremely detail oriented, have great organization skills, communicate effectively, and provide excellent customer service. 


The Content Transmission Specialist II reports to an Operations Manager and Supervisor team. The CTI position will assist the leadership team in training, workflow improvement, basic leadership and be relied upon as a subject matter expert in various areas of CT.


You Role Accountabilities...

Operational and Technical Execution:

Perform the daily operation of Content Transmission workflows building the transmission paths of live and recorded events and network signals. Follow departmental guidelines and best practices. Addressing any technical, scheduling, or on-air issues. Working with key customers on transmission requests, work intake, budgeting, provisioning, and processing. Provide daily reporting related to operational issues and/or Air impacting events.


Knowledge Sharing:

This position should update documentation and refine SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to reflect changes in technology and workflow. They should be able to communicate effectively with management, customers, and the wider TOC team.


Workflow efficiencies, Change Management:

Look to define new and creative ways to implement workflow changes to gain efficiency by engaging the entire team. Active mentoring and communication with managers and staff.


Qualifications & Experiences...

  • Experience or knowledge of Broadcast TV transmissions and live remote events 
  • Knowledge of transmission systems, technologies and providers
  • Customer service and organizational skills customers
  • College Degree, preferable Communications or Technical.
  • Previous Television, Broadcast to satellite or fiber industry experience preferred.
