About the Content & Social Media Manager position

Neighborhood Goods is looking for a Social Media Manager. Your job will be to develop and nurture our social presence and drive the development of a passionate and engaged community. We’re in our early stages of our brand development and we’re looking for someone who is eager to take our social channels and nurture it into the powerhouse we know it can be. You’ve got a passion for great storytelling, you understand the power of community and a community-centric brand and you understand how to leverage the best of social platforms to bring the brand to life.  


Key responsibilities: Lead the creation and execution of content strategies across all owned social channels to increase engagement, support channel growth and drive brand awareness.


Content Strategy

  • Create and implement the brand content strategy across all social channels. Optimize and re-define based on audience insights, industry trends and brand direction.


Content Calendar Management

  • Plan, deploy and manage the master content calendar for all social channels in alignment with the Marketing Master Calendar.
  • Manage giveaways, 


Copywriting

  • Craft compelling copy optimized for web, paid and organic social


Content & Design

  • Create engaging and effective vistal content that can be used on social channels including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok.


Creator Community

  • Build a creator community to leverage for UGC and extended reach focusing on regional audiences around each store location


Community Management

  • Proactive and reactive community management to build community and awareness for brand


Culture & Trends

  • Stay informed on the everchanging social media landscape. Spot industry and cultural trends, emerging technologies, platform updates and best practices. Define how to engage, connect or collaborate in real time.


Analytics & Insights

  • Monitor and report on channel performance on a weekly and monthly basis. Identify and define KPI for each channel, track, measure and report quantitative and qualitative insights, identify new opportunities to test and learn and areas for growth.


What we’re looking for: 

  • You are a native “social first thinker” - you thrive on social communication and understand how the platforms, and consumers' use of those platforms (specifically their engagement with brands) changes and evolves. 
  • You get the business of social and content and the role they play in driving a business forward 
  • You are a natural content creator / consumer. You intuitively know what “works” and are eager to shape a brand’s meaning to the channel. 
  • 3 - 5 years experience.  
  • Can do attitude. You’re optimistic and motivated by problem solving, not discouraged by it.
