Content Manager

New York, NY

This new role, Content ManagerTHG U.S. Beauty, will be responsible for delivering all long-form editorial content—from our blogs to print and beyond across our brands (Dermstore, LOOKFANTASTIC, SkinStore, SkincareRX, Glossybox)—in a way that drives business in a fast-paced e-commerce environment, while supporting our marketing priorities, SEO efforts and educating our customers. This role will report to the Senior Content Manager.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead a team to write a variety of copy for content marketing assets, constantly ensuring brand voice guidelines are maintained, even as tone is adjusted for channel, asset or persona. 
  • Manage the creation and execution of our editorial content calendars, in line with our mission to educate our customer to promote cross-sell opportunities in order to stretch basket spend. 
  • Keep abreast of SEO trends and work closely with key stakeholders to continually improve content’s adherence to SEO best practices and increase our sites’ organic rankings and traffic 
  • Analyze performance metrics, trends and customer segmentation research to steer new content to drive sales, engagement and loyalty 
  • Proactively investigate, propose, and implement innovative ways of optimizing creative writing to maximize efficiency and productivity 
  • Edit and proof copy, ensuring appropriate and consistent grammar and accuracy of content. 
  • Lead the recruitment and management of freelance writers, 3rd party experts (e.g. Dermatologists) and our Brand Partners to participate in content creation. 
  • Perform updates to existing content and make edits that adhere to copy and SEO standards, prioritizing this work based on strategic needs. 
  • Strive for constant adjustment and improvement for copywriting standards based on campaign data, customer conversion and revenue goals alongside Business Intelligence and Marketing teams. 
  • Continually research and understand your competitive environment to ensure that we remain at the forefront of our industry 
  • Monitor beauty industry and editorial trends and product innovations and incorporate into work collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure trends are represented in campaign planning, in balance with and in conjuction with business goals. 


KPI’s 

  • Organic revenue, traffic, conversion, AOV 
  • Blog revenue, traffic, conversion, AOV, bounce rate, engagement time 
  • Development of Direct Reports  


Job requirements: 

  • 5+ years’ experience in editorial and/or content marketing programs with a focus on driving education and engagement. 
  • Highly organized self-starter, with a data-driven mentality and bias towards action. 
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior members in the team, ensuring their professional development 
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
