Content Creator

Boston, MA

The Content Creator provides audiences online with a firsthand view of the Green Dot Labs experience through the production and publication of multimedia content for social media and other channels. The Content Creator communicates GDL’s brand voice, visual identity, and product benefits to audiences online, including consumers, budtenders, and industry leaders. This position works closely with the Graphic Designer and marketing leadership to execute on the brand’s content strategy, developing brand and product narratives powered by compelling, timely visuals that support strategic brand and retail marketing objectives.


The ideal candidate will be comfortable in front of and behind the camera with a well-trained eye and an ability to create exciting content within brand guidelines. The Content Creator should have a robust background in social media marketing and multimedia content production, a fresh and enthusiastic approach to audience engagement and the ability to meet and exceed defined performance metrics. A true passion for cannabis and excitement about the Green Dot Labs brand is a must. Green Dot Labs will provide all necessary shooting and editing equipment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce and execute on a detailed content calendar for social media channels aligned with key strategies, events and messaging as defined by marketing leadership.
  • Generate social media imagery, videos and copy that align with marketing goals, brand voice and visual identity.
  • Utilize existing footage and imagery and shoot new footage to educate our audience about the GDL brand, culture, and products.
  • Create original photo, video, and animated content. Shoot live and edit content for use across multiple channels. Upload and organize assets and footage for use within the marketing department.
  • Gather and reshare quality, brand-aligned user content on social channels.
  • Engage with community members via comment and direct message response. Provide preliminary troubleshooting, direct inquiries to appropriate channels and collaborate with brand leadership to address issues.
  • Manage influencer relationships and facilitate/track product seeding and content creation.
  • Generate and manage campaigns to boost engagement including giveaways and contests.
  • Track emerging trends across platforms and report to the brand team on opportunities to incorporate trends into social strategy.
  • Quickly iterate off successful/trending content in ways that align with brand standards.
  • Regularly visit production facilities to capture BTS and production footage for social channels.
  • Attend events and retail activations to capture and broadcast contact live.
  • Work with Retail Marketing Manager to support relevant retail partner requests for support, including content reposts and retailer features.
  • Act as an on-camera spokesperson for GDL on social feeds.
  • Work with photographers and graphic designer to develop imagery and graphics needed to support content strategy.
  • Produce additional product and brand photography and videos as needed.
  • Meet and exceed KPIs as defined by marketing leadership including post frequency, engagement metrics and authority metrics.
  • Monitor and measure content effectiveness and reorient as needed.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Clear, concise written communication style with ability to address a variety of audiences effectively
  • Proven ability to produce quality videos and photos in a variety of environments
  • Proven experience producing graphics and editing videos and photos using Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, etc)
  • 4+ years professional experience in social media or content planning and creation required
  • 2+ years of cannabis experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Hootsuite, Sprout, or other content management software.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills
  • Effective, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to accept and incorporate regular feedback from stakeholders
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Must have a MED Badge (or qualified to receive one)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This role typically requires 50 or more working hours per week. Some weekends and evenings will be required.
  • Working hours are typically 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
  • This role is primarily based in our Denver office but at least 2 weekly trips to our Boulder office will be required. Local travel to third party venues including events and retail partner locations will be required.

SALARY: 50,000-70,000 /YEAR
