Compensation & Sales Commission Analyst

The Compensation & Sales Commission Analyst will own the end-to-end Commission plan process and be responsible for accurate and timely payout of Commission and be the single point of contact for questions, escalations and correction as required. This role will be the business owner of the Commission tool and be responsible for delivering Leadership updates on plan performance and payout. 

 

In addition, this role will also support analysis and simulation of new compensation scheme and compensation processes.

 

Main accountabilities/objective of the position

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business owner of the Commission plan admin tool and responsible for setting up process and timelines for accurate and timely payout on a monthly basis.
  2. Collaborate with IT, payroll, external consultants and vendor to optimize tool performance and tool enhancements which includes mobile app. Responsible for tool administrator tasks including loads that need to be done into the tool and reporting.
  3. Owner of all Commission plan document – which includes working with legal to create the new plan documents and process to ensure each participant receives their plan document and we have signed acknowledgment from all plan participants. 
  4. Single point of contact for any questions or queries from the business with respect to plan payout.
  5. Provide metrics-based, actionable strategic insights to HR partners and Commercial leadership by conducting analysis of commission payout and trends to ascertain Commission plan design objectives (behaviors and business results).
  6. Conduct period audit to ensure there is no discrepancy in tool calculations and payout and be accountable to process audits.
  7. Partner with Finance for accuracy in accruals and spend.
  8. Provide support and data for creation or modification of new or existing commission plans.
  9. Excel based modeling and simulation of new compensation program.
  10. Ongoing Compensation support to the business.

 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience serving in an analytical capacity – Business analysis/ Compensation/ Commission plan administration/ HR analytics/ Finance or related area.
  • Ability to work with technical audience to manage performance and optimization of software/ tool performance.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to understand where and how to look for errors in large datasets and set up audit checklists.
  • Strong data visualization skills; ability to analyze data for strategic insights and develop materials that showcase data that summarizes performance for Leadership.
  • Ability to communicate technical content to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain objectivity and discretion with confidential information.
  • Ability to be proactive, problem-solve, make decisions, and escalate when needed.
  • Highly advanced skills in MS office tools, Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, macros, etc.), PowerPoint. Experience in Varicent or any other Commission software and or SAP is a plus.
