Community Support Lead is responsible for planning and executing community marketing activities to generate new member prospects and improve member retention. This position is also responsible for cultivating and managing community relationships as well as identifying, organizing and executing events. The CSL will work in partnership with other department Managers and Leads in executing community focused initiatives for the Growth and Retention team.


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Cultivate New and Established Community Outreach Partners:
  • Partner with Group Growth Leads (GGL) to identify outreach activities
  • Lead impactful relationships that drive engagement with key stakeholders, influencers, community-based organizations and faith based organizations
  • Assist with calendaring a cadence of events to promote growth and retention activities
  • Develop community outreach strategy with Community Outreach Partners for mutual benefit
  • Help guide and educate members about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care topics to include managing their health and well-being maximizing the value of their health plan benefits and choosing a quality care provider
  • Assist with maintaining existing relationships with key Community Outreach stakeholders 
  • Execute Outreach Activities:
  • Plan and prepare logistics of Outreach events for regionally approved initiatives (i.e., virtual, telephonic, in-person)
  • Organize needs of the event, identifying compliance requirements, by all parties
  • Prepare appropriate requests and share updates with internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for full execution and coordination of all outreach activities
  • Report out and document all pertinent details (CRM, e-mail summary, thank you’s, tracking log’s, etc.)
  • Outreach Assistance and Tasks:
  • Research complex issues across multiple databases and work with support resources to resolve member issues and/or partner with others to resolve escalated issues
  • Attend health care and health plan events to represent the company
  • Coordinate and attend company sponsored events
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, competition, and new opportunities
  • Support all company initiatives, give actionable feedback, share best practices, and serve as advocate and information source for company
  • Occasional inbound calls from members to RSVP for upcoming events

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with outdoor/ indoor event project coordination
  • Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation  
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish and additional
  • 2+ years of experience in health care 
  • Experience working with providers
  • Experience working with communities of all different ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, underserved communities


Soft Skills: 

  • Highly confident in speaking to large and small groups
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work effectively with physicians and other clinical and operational staff, both written and verbally
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to look at challenges as opportunities
  • Working Environment:
  • Flexible occasional weekends and late evenings, adaptable of schedule to attend various meetings and/or promotional events.
  • Once deemed Safe ability to travel locally up to 75% of the time within assigned territory
