Community Manager

Savannah, GA

SCAD seeks a community manager to exemplify the SCAD and oversee crisis management across our brand across multiple social media platforms. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering responsive, accurate, and courteous engagement across multiple social media accounts at a time. You will work closely with the @scaddotedu social team, public relations department, editorial team, and other university stakeholders to engage and grow our online community. 

 

An integral part of this position is monitoring and leading online conversations through proactive communication and building strong relationships with followers, including prospective students, current students, alumni, and industry leaders. This position will liaise with SCAD leadership to best determine social plans and responses during moments of crisis and work with the social team to create proactive campaigns. 

 

A gifted writer and digitally savvy, the successful candidate has prior experience managing social media accounts, blogging, publishing, and in other digital writing and editing capacities. Stellar written and verbal communication skills are paramount, as is advanced knowledge of social media scheduling, analytic, and listening tools. The ideal candidate has both an analytical and creative background and is able to provide strategic and thoughtful recommendations based on data. The ability to stay organized and accomplish tasks with competing and often changing deadlines/priorities is imperative, as are exceptional project management and problem-solving skills. The candidate should also stay current on community, competitive, and broader art and design news to education internal and external audiences.



Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and AP style guidelines

- Experience with crisis management in public relations and will be capable of quickly synthesizing complex information

- Positive team-oriented approach to working with partners

- Able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice and over extended periods of time
