Communications Supervisor

Atlanta, GA

This position assists the GBS Communications Manager with implementing effective, measurable communications strategies to support projects and initiatives for a large-scale enterprise program. The incumbent helps ensure communications strategies align with the project’s business plan as well as overall company objectives. This role assists with managing tools that measure message effectiveness at the local level.  


Responsibilities

  • Works with Communications Manager to develop messaging for targeted audiences  
  • Writes and edits communications deliverables to inform employees of project initiatives 
  • Creates reports and presentations to communicate project plans/priorities to leadership 
  • Supports execution of communications strategy according to project plan, such as supporting audience segmentation efforts, determining ideal communications channels, etc. 
  • Assists with internal project team communications (e.g., email memos, on-site meeting coordination, etc.) 
  • Maintains relationships with key stakeholders to support awareness of organizational issues and priorities  
  • Monitors vendor and team progress on assigned tasks to ensure project schedules are maintained 
  • Coordinates deliverables distribution with the required networks to ensure messages are delivered to the audiences 
  • Holds others accountable to established performance levels to achieve individual/group goals 
  • Resolves individual/group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies/procedures in a timely manner to motivate and foster teamwork

  • Demonstrates ability to produce high-quality work with a quick turnaround time 
  • Manages multiple high-priority deliverables simultaneously 
  • Applies knowledge in the areas of communications-related services, products and customer technologies 
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills 
  • Displays excellent time management skills; exceptional attention to detail 
  • Minimum 2 years’ of experience in writing and developing employee communications (e.g., email memos, announcements and briefs; employee portal articles; comprehensive communications plans and campaigns; etc.) or similar writing experience 
  • Experience developing communications for business/IT transformation projects 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in English, Communications, Journalism or related field
