Our corporate communication team is seeking a passionate storyteller and innovative thinker to join us as an Internal Communications Specialist. As a member of the Internal Communication team, you will play a crucial role in driving engagement and fostering a strong sense of community within our organization. Reporting directly to the Communications Supervisor, you will collaborate with stakeholders across all departments, working on a dynamic, energetic, and high-output team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining Editorial Calendar: You will be responsible for curating and managing the editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent and well-planned flow of internal communications across various channels.
- Developing and Implementing Communication Plans: Collaborate with various departments to create comprehensive communication plans for different engagement initiatives, ensuring effective execution and delivery of key messages.
- Managing Employee Engagement Platforms: You will be responsible for monitoring, updating, and managing our internal Facebook page and employee recognition platform.
- Crafting Engaging Email Announcements: Write concise yet impactful email communications that resonate with associates, conveying important updates, announcements, and organizational news.
- Planning and Coordinating Communication Tactics: Participate in the strategic planning and coordination of communication tactics to raise awareness about company-wide initiatives, ensuring their successful implementation.
- Maintaining and Updating Company Intranet: Take ownership of the company intranet, regularly updating it with engaging stories, eye-catching banners, relevant calendar items, and up-to-date policies.
- Creating Presentations for Meetings and Town Halls: Assist in the development of presentations for various meetings and town halls, helping leaders effectively communicate their messages to the organization.
- Develop Copy for a Variety of Communication Delivery Channels: Work directly with the graphic designer to produce flyers, digital signage, intranet banners and images, as part of broader communication plans.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- College Degree in a Related Field: Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- 0-2 Years of Internal Communication Experience: Demonstrated experience in internal communication roles is essential, showcasing an understanding of effective communication strategies within a corporate environment.
- Strong Writing Skills: Excellent writing abilities are a must, with a focus on clear, concise, and engaging communication styles.
- Passionate about Storytelling: A genuine passion for storytelling and the ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives that resonate with employees.
- Knowledge of AP Style: Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) style guidelines to ensure consistency and professionalism in written communications.
- Experience Working with Various Levels of Leadership: Previous experience collaborating with leadership at different levels will be highly valuable in this role.
- Highly Developed Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical.
- Brand Loyalty Building: Experience in creating content that fosters brand loyalty and a strong sense of community among employees.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and TEAMS.
