Communications Specialist

The Employee Communications Specialist for Expedia Group will be central in handling and implementing comprehensive employee communications and engagement strategies that turn complex and/or high volumes of information into streamlined, clear, credible, and compelling content that shapes the perceptions and behaviors of its intended audiences.


This role will coordinate (via curation and creation) a broad range of internal communications activities that include finding creative ways to tell our stories to employees, managers, top leaders, and external groups.


The qualified candidate will also work with partners across our technology teams, the broader communications practice and our people team to influence the products and decisions that we ultimately bring to life for our employees.


What You Will Do:

  • Support the communications director in the implementation of strategic internal communications plans
  • Proactively maintain relationships with the breadth of other internal communications professionals across Expedia Group to facilitate cross-company storytelling and ensure consistency of message
  • Maintain thoughtful calendars spanning our channels, audiences, and key campaigns
  • Exercise creative thinking to input into a core storytelling strategy under which other key campaigns can ladder up
  • Build and report on measurable analytics; use this content to make recommendations to peers on ways to amend existing editorial approach for greater success
  • Research, write, and/or take responsibility for calendaring spanning internal channels (intranet, social channels, company emails, newsletters, townhalls, local events, etc.)

  • Outstanding project management and communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and to handle multiple projects in an organized, timely manner
  • Ability to synthesize data into logical conclusions and recommendations
  • Comfortable with intense, hardworking working environments and tight deadlines
  • A self-guided leader, creative, responsible, high-energy, eager to work with other departments and independently
  • Some experience in supporting communications across a matrixed organization a plus
  • 2+ years Employee/ Internal Communications experience in a corporate or agency environment; travel and/or tech industry preferred
