Communications Specialist

Kyndryl is seeking a communications specialist to join its global communications team and focus on enhancing and amplifying Kyndryl's reputation in the U.S. and Canada. This individual will play a key role in advancing awareness of Kyndryl among key audiences – including media, influencers, industry leaders, and employees – by promoting the company's progress, differentiation, and innovation.


In this role, we look for you to develop communications narratives, plans and strategies, with a strong focus on pitching and external storytelling, that highlight Kyndryl's leadership and expertise across technologies, industries, and corporate responsibility. You will be able to work seamlessly across teams within the Corporate Affairs function, as well as with business leaders across the U.S. and Canada, to identify story angles, customer news and thought leadership content that will reach the right audiences and drive positive outcomes for Kyndryl’s reputation.


To succeed, you will need to be highly organized and be able to operate in an agile, self-directed way, be a strong writer and have an eye for finding strong news hooks and story angles that will drive impactful media coverage. This role should embrace a 360 approach to storytelling that engages all relevant teams around content creation and execution.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop plans, narratives, campaigns, and pitches that drive media placements
  • Develop relationships with key members of the media
  • Create and maintain a pipeline of news and compelling story ideas, translating technical and business innovations into clear, compelling narratives
  • Prepare and media train spokespeople
  • Establish deep understanding of Kyndryl’s strategies and priorities, key market trends across geographies, competitive landscape across sectors, and Kyndryl's points of differentiation


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Minimum of 6+ years of proven experience developing and delivering media relations programs in a corporate or agency setting.
  • Experience driving media campaigns and working across a diverse variety of teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience and relationships with U.S. tech, trade and business media; Canadian media relationships a plus.
