Communications Specialist

Amazon is seeking an experienced, analytical, and creative Communications Specialist to drive global, brand awareness through social media as well as internal platforms. In this role you will develop compelling content that is fresh, engaging, and visually appealing. You will drive communication strategies and marketing campaigns that are designed to inform and engage across prioritized projects, topics and narratives and find the best social media as well as internal platforms to share our stories. This individual should be a creative storyteller who is savvy with social media and can work across teams to mine for compelling stories and content ideas. This individual should be equally comfortable developing both short and long form content (articles, leadership bios, emails, presentation content, infographics, videos, etc.). This individual may have experience working in brand development, or social media and should have the demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic organization, with a track record of generating results.


Core Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Develop and drive communications that engage and inspire around the departmental goals, product launches, and other priorities.
  • Experiment with new, creative ways to reach corporate employees with the news and information they care about.
  • Develop communication plans that think long-term, tying multiple communication moments together into broader strategies.
  • Research, write, edit, and publish communications with an obsession for quality, accuracy, and engagement.
  • Work across teams to mine for content that can be tailored and repurposed for our global corporate audience partnering with PR to post externally on social media.
  • Routinely measure and report out to stakeholders regarding the impact of internal communications.


Preferred location is any U.S. Corporate offices, virtual locations will be considered depending on candidate experience and relative location to key stakeholders.

Job responsibilities

Specifically, this role owns developing and executing engaging internal communication efforts and supporting communication initiatives related to our Employer Brand.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
  • 8+ years communications experience (employee/internal communications experience preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience with visual storytelling, video production, social media
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating digital storytelling capabilities


This role can be based in Seattle, Nashville or at one of our regional office locations. Virtual location may be considered.
