Communications Manager

The Communications Manager is a communications professional and expert storyteller – crafting strong, concise, and powerful narratives for both internal and external audiences that inform and inspire. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Executive & Internal Communications, this position will collaborate with the broader Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP) Communications team to position our global businesses both internally and externally, while aligning efforts with broader company messaging, mission and business narrative.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive employee communication strategies that inform, engage and motivate more than 5,000 Cast Members around the globe. This includes project management, storytelling, event management and operational communication.
  • Develop written content that is clear, concise, purposeful, and inspirational – pulling together narratives that showcase our global teams, including a focus on diversity & inclusion, sustainability, and business growth.
  • Design compelling and engaging web pages, email templates, Cast TV slides, posters and other visual collateral pieces to support new initiatives and business needs.
  • Explore new ways to communicate with our employees, amplifying content across platforms and sharing stories beyond CPGP. 
  • Write for internal communications vehicles: internal newsletters, The HUB, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) segment/enterprise publications (Cast Life Blog, ReImagine Tomorrow, etc.), site-specific intranets, etc.
  • Support DPEP campaigns by developing site tactics and handling confidential information.
  • Maintain awareness of company, industry and overall business issues, goals, trends and challenges.
  • Develop, own and manage editorial/content calendar to support CPGP internal and executive communication tactics and vehicles.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in corporate/internal communications.
  • Ability to translate complicated concepts into clear, compelling narratives for internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; high level of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines. Strong copyediting and proofing skills are required.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Experienced with Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator) and other communications platforms (Keynote and/or PowerPoint, Word Press).
  • Experience art directing photos and videos as well as creating short-form content (e.g., TikTok, Instagram posts).


Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing Communications, or equivalent work experience.
