Communications Leader, Digital Technology

Carrier is looking for a Communications Leader, Digital Technology who will develop and implement a compelling integrated communications strategy for Carrier’s Digital Technology organization. The chosen candidate will create clear and consistent messaging both internally – within the DT function and more broadly across Carrier – and externally, helping to elevate Carrier’s digital innovation and its role in creating intelligent climate and energy solutions. This position will work directly with several senior leaders and partner with global communications professionals to leverage proven tools to drive awareness and engagement.

This position reports to the Executive Director of Corporate Communications and is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communications Execution and Messaging Development: Work with Digital Technology leadership to develop an integrated communications approach and supporting narrative for Carrier’s approach to digital innovation.
  • Functional Engagement: Optimize intra-functional communications through channel prioritization and strengthen communications quality and consistency to drive internal alignment and engagement.
  • Public Relations: Partner with internal public relations teams to ensure Carrier’s digital story is amplified externally through new solution announcements, speaking engagements, case studies and more.
  • Executive Messaging: Create executive messaging, presentations and other communications deliverables for Carrier’s Chief Digital Officer. Materials can include leadership messages, video content, talking points and more. Drive development and execution of multiple livestreamed Global Town Hall events for the global Digital function.
  • Thought Leadership: Identify opportunities and provide solutions to strengthen thought leadership in the key areas of innovation and digitally enabled lifecycle solutions – in alignment with the corporate communications team’s broader thought leadership program.
  • Measurement and Analysis: Leverage data to assess the effectiveness of communications messaging and make insights-driven recommendations for improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Communications , Public Relations or Journalism
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing communications for global and multinational audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and social media platforms, specifically LinkedIn.
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills that reflect an ability to clarify and simplify complex issues and subject matters.
  • Strong executive presence, exceptional listening skills, ability to anticipate needs and prepare accordingly and comfort making recommendations to senior leaders.
  • Proven project management skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency under demanding deadlines, and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to translate data into insights
  • Team player with a positive, collaborative work ethic
  • Given the nature of this position, at times the work product associated with this role will require the incumbent to work after hours and / or manage highly urgent, short deadline priorities.
